B.A. (HONS.) IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE & LITERATURE
|
In order to accommodate actual young people’s needs in our country in developing a quality career we consulted a number of educational thinkers and scholars all over the country. We have valued their suggestions for opening the Department of English Language & Literature in this pioneering Private University. Besides, in the context of the emergence of compact world village concept, English has become the unchallenged Lingua Franca with the results that it has become the medium of communication among a great number of nations. Language research has now taken a very intensive turn and books which are the results of dedicated research, are coming out in larger number giving more opportunities for acquiring language skills. In recent years study of English Language and Literature has become a crying need for translation works of very valuable books in different branches of human knowledge, to meet the demand of qualified English teachers at Secondary, Higher Secondary and Degree levels of studies and to produce English experts in Private Universities it becomes an inevitability on our part to open the Department of English Language and Literature at USTC. |
